Hatch and D2international have partnered to hold Hackathons in the Washington, DC community to engage budding entrepreneurs and create innovative solutions for social change.

DC+Acumen is a volunteer-run chapter of Acumen. Hatch and DC+Acumen have partnered on several occasions to host Social Innovation Festivals in Washington, DC. They have brought together the larger DC community to spur discussion, debate, and new ideas for social change.

Social solutions

Social Solutions aims to reduce the incarceration and criminalization rates in Washington D.C. by half in five years. Hatch and Social Solutions have partnered on several occasions to host Social Innovation Festivals in Washington, DC. They have brought together the larger DC community to spur discussion, debate, and new ideas for social change.

Trust Law

Locations Worldwide

TrustLaw, a Thomas Reuters Foundation program, spreads the practice of pro bono legal services by connecting NGOs and social enterprises with legal teams offering free legal. Hatch has partnered with TrustLaw to receive pro bono legal services.

 

Rotaract Club AVANA

Antananarivo, Madagascar

A nonprofit organization based in Antananarivo, Madagascar, the Rotaract Club has helped the BioD team with community assessment and education. Volunteers from the club have accompanied the BioD team during their prototyping and implementation trips, bringing with them expertise in community education and knowledge of Malagasy culture and language.

University of Antananarivo

Institut pour la Maitrise de l'Energie, Antananarivo, Madagascar

Engineering students at the University of Antananarivo have been involved in the assessment, design, and prototyping phases of the project. These students have constructed a prototype of the BioD and have helped with the implementation of the BioD in our partner communities.

 

Columbia University 

Impact Investing Initiative, New York, NY

The Columbia University Impact Investing Initiative has provided Hatch with five graduate student consultants to evaluate and recommend improvements on our business model.

Wangari Gardens

Washington, DC

The Wangari Gardens is a park designed, created, and sustained by the community for the nonprofit benefit of Washington, DC. The BioD prototype was housed at the garden, where it was run and tested with the help of the Wangari Gardens staff. The sludge byproduct of the prototype was used as fertilizer for the garden plots on site.”

Peace Corps

Madagascar

The BioD team has been collaborating with Peace Corps volunteers in Madagascar to understand rural communities' needs. The BioD team has officially disseminated biodigester technologies in various communities across Madagascar through Peace Corps volunteers.

A co-working space, focused on how individuals view their relationship with work. Each unique neighborhood space is designed to support a new lifestyle that allows individuals to choose where, when, and how they would like to work—in an affordable and convenient way. Cove has partnered with Hatch on several events, including the SIF Hackathon.
