Liberia Piracy Law

Liberia's legal system is based on common law jurisprudence, meaning criminal law derives from domestic legislation and the courts' interpretation of that legislation. Liberia's 1976 Penal Law, section 15.31, criminalizes piracy with language nearly identical to that of Article 101 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
