Hands on Dog Volunteers Needed!Sad is currently looking for hands on dog volunteers to help in the following areas: Dog walkers! We need reliable volunteers to walk the stray dogs we are trying to home. Get fit and feel good all at the same time by volunteering to do this kind deed! Weekend Foster Families. Take a SAD dog home for the weekend. This helps us socialize the dogs in a home environment and gives the dogs a holiday from kenneling. Dog Trappers : If you already have experience in this area, working for organisations like the RSPCA or if you feel comfortable to deal with a frightened or distressed animal, then you could help SAD by responding to information about sightings of abandoned animals. Animals are then taken to the AVC clinic for vaccinations and general health checks. Dog Handler : Well behaved dogs are more easily homed, so you could help by volunteering to handle a SAD dog at regular training sessions led by a professional dog trainer. Hands off Dog Volunteers Needed!We are also looking for Volunteers who will help support the organisation in its day-to-day operations in the following areas:
Accountant/Treasurer - if you have any accounting experience or enjoy working with figures then SAD needs your help to keep track of donations as well as handling costs. Internet advertising coordinator - if you have experience in internet advertising, advertising or sales, then SAD needs your help Poster Making – if you have creative skills and know how to use a variety of computer programmes and software such as PowerPoint, Photoshop and so on, then SAD needs your help. Poster Distribution – Sad needs reliable volunteers to distribute posters on a weekly basis to certain notice boards and to find new outlets for poster distribution Merchandise and Retail: We need people to research and co-ordinate the manufacture of products we can market as official SAD mechandise: t-shirts, water bottles, pens, mugs etc. Phone Volunteers. Offer to man the SAD phone for a 2 week period on rotation. Phone volunteers are required to deal with enquiries from the public and to receive information about stray dogs to pass on to those responsible for trapping and collection.
