Honey was officially adopted on April 8 th 2009 by a couple seeking a companion dog who would tolerate cats. She has been re-named Yossi and in their own words Yossi’s new owners tell us the tale behind the name change:

I believe things happen for a reason, we were due to visit Lucky at the Kennels but he got re-homed 2 days before our visit. I looked at the SAD website and immediately liked the look of Honey.  On visiting the Kennels , she was so friendly and good natured that I couldn’t resist.  We have 2 cats and she’s been a gem around them too. 

My husband is a huge Liverpool fan and Yossi Benayoun scored the winning goal of an important match when my husband was stroking Honey.  He saw it as a lucky sign and re-named her Yossi.  

She is quite a star wherever we go and never lets us down, she is very friendly and good natured.  People are often stopping to stroke her and take a look including a number of Muslim families.  Yossi is always placid to anyone that wants to give her a pat but she is a faithful and obedient dog.  Its sad that she was left on the streets, someone else’s loss but our gain!
