SAD Education Visit to Al Yasmina School 19th May 2009!
On a recent visit to Al Yamina School, Dr Rachel Shaw teaches the finer points of looking after your dog to a class of 5 year olds!!

This week SAD visited the FS 2 classes at Al Yasmina School in Khalifa City A. The FS 2 pupils were having a “Vets and Animal Awareness Week”.

Dr Rachel Shaw (Director of SAD) and Senior Volunteer Nikki Gammans gave the children a talk about basic dog care. Twelve-week-old Pearl made her debut as a SAD demonstration dog, showing the children the basic commands she has learnt after only 2 weeks with us.

She confidently demonstrated the sit and down commands while the children watched in amazement. She beautifully illustrated how like children, dogs can learn from an early age.

The star of the show however was Dr Rachel’s dog Miracle Max. He demonstrated his vast repertoire of tricks including his ability to speak and give a high five on command.

After all his hard work he was rewarded with his favourite thing- a pat and a stroke from the children, he could have stayed there all day!
